Cleaning and Organizing

This past weekend I had Saturday and Monday off from work. Saturday I decided I would get in and really clean my house. I started with some kitchen cupboards, did the laundry, washed all the rugs, swept, vacuumed, mopped the kitchen and bathroom and then decided I had had enough. So, I then just relaxed the rest of the day. On Monday, I decided I would totally clean my storage room and rotate my food storage. Tiffany had gotten me a lot of stuff on the Albertson's sale the week before and I needed to find a place for all of it and rotate it to the back. It took me 5 hours, but it is done and looks so nice. I even did an inventory of what I needed. David came home and asked if I had an inventory list on the wall inside the storage room so he knew what there was to eat. Pretty smart idea but no I didn't do it. He eats enough without a list. If anyone ever needs a cake mix I have plenty-32 to be exact. And, I have about 30 cookie mixes. Okay, maybe I need to be a bit more conservative. I just want to make sure I have what I may need. Crazy lady I know!!
I want to learn how to do the smart coupon things also. I will have to see if I can save a lot of money doing it. If you have any great coupon ideas or a website to visit, let me know.

Father and Sons

This is probably a silly blog, but something I want to remember. Last night John and I went to watch David and Trever play Church Basketball against each other. I told John he better wear his tennis shoes just in case because our team has been a few short each week. Well, needless to say, they only had 3 there and so John had to play. If they have 4 they can play and pick up someone else from another team. Well, my Johnny P. hasn't played BKB in a very long time, and he is getting older. Right off the bat him and Trever go for the same ball and he holds tough. It was a jump ball. Pretty funny to watch though. He doesn't move as fast as he used to and it is a pretty big court. They have no subs so he has to play the whole game. Sometimes he doesn't go clear to the other end, and sometimes they throw him the ball and he can't get to it. Trev's team beat us by 3 points but it was a good game. On the way home, John says he thinks his arms have gotten shorter. He can't reach around and steal the ball like he used to. He also said I think they kept throwing the ball ahead of me because I couldn't get to it. We laughed and laughed because he knew he just didn't run fast enough to get to it. I think his boys really skunked him last night, but I was proud of him for even trying. I was a bit worried about him because he has high blood pressure and his knees pop out sometimes but he said I just took it easy on everyone, including myself. What a goof!!!!

Valentine Survival

Well, The holiday from heck is over! And, it wasn't really too bad. We were very organized and I am sorry to say that it wasn't as busy as we had hoped. I think the economy has definately made an impact. Also, my boss got rid of 2 of our wire services just a few weeks before Valentines and that really hurt us. About 1/3 of our business comes from our wire services. Needless to say, we got 7 orders from our other 1 and probably lost at least 50 orders. I don't feel bad for them because it was a big mistake and I hope they learned from it. I tried to tell them but they didn't listen. I never even stayed late this year. We left by 7:30 and came back at 7:00 a.m. I do have a few extra roses left though. I wish I could send you all some. Well, now I have to do all the paper work and make sure everything got taken care of and paid for. So, I better get to work. Everyone have a great week!

Party Time

This past week-end we partied hearty. On Friday night the whole Poulsen clan, adults only, except Heather and Koby, (we missed you) all went to dinner at Stockman's in Rigby for John's birthday. It was way good. It is a steak house and we all enjoyed it. It was fun to all get together. Then, on Saturday night, Christopher and Courtney took John and I out to Winger's for his birthday. Lindsay and Rob gave us tickets to the Bar-J Wranglers at the college. So, we then went to that after dinner. It was really good. Sunday was a bit more relaxed, but then on Monday, we got together again for Conner and Grandpa's birthday and had cake and ice cream, and did presents. So, now we are all partied out for a few days. Now, I have to look forward to my very busy week at the Floral Shoppe. Remember Valentines Day is Saturday and to remember your sweetheart. Everyone have a great week.

Super Bowl and Lots of Food

Well yesterday was the Super Bowl. I am one that really likes to watch the Super Bowl. I really wanted the Cardinals to win but they did put up a good fight. I yell and scream in parts of it when it gets exciting, and my family tells me to calm down. We had a great time yesterday, a ton of food, good company, and lots of laughs at the commercials. I have so much food left that I won't have to cook all week. It will be nice. We even did the 3-D glasses at half time. We all looked pretty sweet. It was a fun day to get together.
